Hundreds of Girl Scouts graduate with walk over Big Four Bridge

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - It was a symbolic walk for about 400 Girl Scouts.

They all took part in a "bridging" ceremony Saturday for Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana.

The girls, ages 7 through 17, represented scouts ranging from Brownie to Ambassador.

They crossed the Big Four Bridge as a way to symbolize their step up in rank.

"It's a big deal to these girls," said Keshia Swan from the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. "Not only do they get a patch, but they get to graduate to a different level and learn more and develop more of their girl scout experience."

Swan says it's almost time for people to sign up to be a part of the Girl Scouts.

If you want to sign up, recruitment starts on June 15.
