Exchange of gunfire on W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard leads to injuries, police say

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An exchange of gunfire led to a man being shot multiple times in Louisville Monday afternoon, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Police say it happened at around 2 p.m.

According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, two men got into an argument on W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard, near S. 38th Street. Mitchell said the men exchanged gunfire and one of them was shot multiple times by the other.

Police were called after someone reported seeing the wounded man near the corner of Vermont Avenue and  S. 38th Street.

The wounded man was taken to Norton Hospital and his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, according to police.

Police say the other man ran away.
