LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Bedford, Kentucky, woman has been arrested after authorities say she brutally beat a man after she discovered texts on his cell phone that she didn't like.

According to an arrest warrant, it happened on May 24.

The Trimble County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Anna Maria Teal got into an argument with her "significant other," a man in his 60s, over texts she allegedly found on his phone.

As a result, Teal allegedly "began punching and hitting him all over his body."

"Anna punched the victim in his face several times and kicked him in the ribs once the victim had fallen to the ground," the warrant states.

Authorities say Teal then put her hands around his neck. She also allegedly grabbed a Colt automatic 380 firearm, put it to his head, "and kept clicking the hammer and pulling the trigger several times."

The victim told authorities that the magazine was loaded, but there was no live round in the chamber.

When the man managed to climb onto the sofa, Teal allegedly began beating him on his legs, and eventually used a gun stock, "to beat the victim on his entire body."

Authorities found the gun stock, "and it did have what's suspected to be blood on it," the warrant states.

"Anna Maria Teal unlawfully intentionally caused serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or a dangerous instrument," the warrant states.

A warrant was issued for Teal's arrest and she was taken into custody on Monday, June 1. She is currently being held in the Carroll County Detention Center on charges of first degree wanton endangerment and first degree assault.
