LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a Louisville woman accused of starting a fire that damaged two houses and killed a family dog.

According to the arrest report, it happened April 21, in the 1300 block of Berry Blvd near Taylor Blvd. Police say 28-year-old Ronda Salter was in a dispute with someone who lived inside the home, so she intentionally set it on fire.

The single-story home was "fully engulfed" in flames when firefighters arrived. It took 22 firefighters 15 minutes to extinguish the fire. Firefighters say four people lived in the house, but no one was inside when the fire started. However, the family's dog died as a result of smoke inhalation.

According to the arrest report, the fire caused extreme damage to the home. The flames also spread to a nearby home, causing "moderate damage."

Police and fire officials have been looking for Salter for several weeks, and she was arrested on June 2.

According to the Metro Corrections website, Salter is facing several charges, including two counts of arson, engaging in organized crime, and theft by deception. She is being held on a $30,000 full cash bond.
