Sellersburg school tests staff, students for TB

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Health officials in southern Indiana have tested nearly 200 students and teachers for tuberculosis at a Sellersburg school where a student has tested positive for the illness.

A student tested positive for the illness at Rock Creek Community Academy.

Clark County Health Department officials say the students and teachers tested were identified as possibly having close contact with the infected student.

Health officials plan to retest the students before school starts in two months, because TB has a long incubation period.

Tuberculosis is typically transmitted through coughing and sneezing.
