Class of 2015: Nearly 6,200 seniors expected to graduate from JCPS

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Nearly 6,200 seniors in the Class of 2015 are expected to earn diplomas from Jefferson County Public Schools in ceremonies that start Friday and will continue through Tuesday.

Which school will have the most graduates this year? That would be Ballard High School, where 478 seniors are expected to walk across the stage at Freedom Hall on Friday night. Ballard is the district's second largest high school with approximately 1,900 students, behind Eastern High, which has approximately 2,000 students and is expected to graduate 392 seniors.

According to graduation trend data provided by JCPS, it appears this year's graduating class will be the largest in at least four years. 

Here are the unofficial numbers for the Class of 2015:

• Ballard High, 478 graduates

• duPont Manual High, 453 graduates

• Pleasure Ridge Park High, 421 graduates

• Eastern High, 392 graduates

• Butler High, 387 graduates

• Louisville Male High, 374 graduates

• Fern Creek High, 316 graduates

• Seneca High, 304 graduates

• Atherton High, 301 graduates

• Jeffersontown High, 297 graduates

• Southern High, 247 graduates

• Fairdale High, 237 graduates

• Doss High, 236 graduates

• Central High, 231 graduates

• Valley High, 208 graduates 

• Iroquois High, 203 graduates

• Waggener High, 166 graduates

• Moore High, 164 graduates

• Western High, 161 graduates

• Academy @ Shawnee, 110 graduates

 The Brown School, 60 graduates

In addition, 446 students are expected to graduate from JCPS alternative schools such as Liberty High, the Phoenix School of Discovery and Jefferson County High School

The Class of 2015 graduations will be held June 5-9 at various locations across Louisville, including Valley High School's auditorium and gymnasium, Durrett Auditorium, the Iroquois Amphitheater and in Broadbent Arena, the East Hall and Freedom Hall at the Kentucky Exposition Center.
