Ali Center to debut 'Brotherly Love' movie in celebration of Father's Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Hollywood actors, Muhammad Ali and gunshot victims hope to change local kids lives through an event at the Muhammad Ali Center. It will include the screening of a new film called Brotherly Love: A Celebration of Fathers.

One of its stars, Romeo Miller, and his dad, rapper Master P, will be in town for the premiere.

A panel discussion afterwards will include a local surgeon who treats gunshot victims.

The goal is to teach young people to turn negative situations into positive opportunities.

Muhammad Ali's life serves as an example -- a police officer he met as a boy became his boxing trainer.

"When his bike was stolen he approached police officer Joe Martin that he was going to "woop" the thief who stole his bike," Ali Center president Donald Lassere said. "Joe Martin said if you're going to do that you need to know how to protect yourself. Joe Martin brought Cassius Clay into the gym and taught him how to fight, and the rest is history."

The event is on June 19, leading up to Father's Day weekend.
