LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police arrested a man in West Point, Kentucky, for driving drunk while on a lawnmower for the second time Tuesday, according to court documents.

Neighbors say the suspect drives his lawn mower around while drunk all the time. In the small river town of West Point, kids play freely, which makes it all the more upsetting for neighbors.

When asked how often he is out on his John Deere lawnmower, neighbor Lisa Johnson responded, "Everyday. Drunk everyday."

Johnson, who watches several grandchildren in the area, says there are two ways Davis gets around town. "He either walks or rides the lawn mower."

The town is so small, there are only four police officers. On Tuesday, one of them got a call that 63-year-old Jerry Davis was driving his lawn mower on Mulberry Street, drunk. "He was all over the road, everything, I mean he was really way over the limit."

Asked to recite the alphabet from E to U, the officer says Davis responded with E, W, X, Y, Z. The arrest report also says he couldn't count down from 43, instead saying 43, 22, 21, 38.

"He doesn't hide it. He pretty much comes out -- you can tell he's drunk -- he'll stumble, he'll fall, he sometimes can't stand up at his door," said Johnson.

According to an arrest report, he was also arrested for driving drunk on his John Deere back in August. He is out of jail but no one answered at his home Thursday.

"Even my three year old granddaughter knows to get on the side of the road when they see him coming," said Johnson.

Davis is due in court in July.
