Five people have positive skin tests for tuberculosis in Floyd County

Posted: Updated:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The Floyd County Health department says five people have had positive skin tests for tuberculosis.

It's already tested more than 100 people, with fewer than 20 left to finish.

But health officials say there's no need to start testing the general public.

This is after a Rock Creek Academy student in Clark County tested positive for tuberculosis.

Since then, health officials have tested 250 people with 48 skin tests coming back positive.

They say that doesn't necessarily mean they have the disease.

If you're a parent of a Rock Creek student, there will be open testing at the Sellersburg school on Monday from 1-6:30 p.m. in the gym.
