LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is facing charges after police say she left three children in a hot car Saturday afternoon while she was shopping.

According to the arrest report, police were called to the TJ Maxx at 4080 Taylorsville Road around 1 p.m. on June 6. That's where police say they found the children -- ages 9-years-old, 5-years-old and 7-months-old -- inside a car with the windows down and the keys in the ignition.

Police say the temperature outside was "approximately 80 degrees."

According to the report, the 7-month-old, "was covered with a fleece blanket and his skin was warm and clammy."

Witnesses told police that the 5-year-old was coughing and crying before police arrived.

Police arrested 28-year-old Ruth Garlo at the scene. TJ Maxx employees told officers that Garlo had been inside the store approximately 30 minutes.

Garlo is charged with three counts of wanton endangerment and was being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $42,500 bond.
