LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A teen appeared before a judge Tuesday morning, accused of beating a homeless man almost to death.

Andre Richards, age 19, is charged with first degree assault.

A homeless man in his 60s was attacked last week near 16th Street and Northwestern Parkway. The victim is reportedly in very grave condition in the hospital.

Richards is being held on a $50,000 bond. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

Two 15-year-olds are also in custody in connection with the beating.

Their names are not being released since they are juveniles.
