LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is in trouble with the law after a police officer was stuck by an uncapped needle allegedly in her possession.
Police say 22-year-old Jordan Moore gave an officer permission to search her bag in May. When asked if there was anything in the bag that could cause injury to the officer, Moore said there was not.
As the officer searched the purse, she was stuck in the thumb by a "loose, uncapped needle."
Police say Moore suffers from "a communicable chronic illness." The officer was taken to University Hospital for treatment, and will require extensive medical testing and ongoing medical care.
Moore was arrested June 12. She is charged with wanton endangerment of a police officer.
