Louisville, KY (WDRB) – Former Louisville Cardinal quarterbacks Chris Redman and Stefan LeFors were never teammates in college, but they've teamed up the last two years to help teach what they've learned to middle school and high school athletes.
Last Friday and Saturday, the two hosted a select quarterbacks and receivers camp at Christian Academy, where LeFors is now head coach.
Each player had to be recommended by their coach and must have been a starter at that position last season or projected to start at that position this upcoming season.
“This is what we love to do. We love football, first and foremost and we love the quarterback position so what better way to share and give back some of our knowledge?” said LeFors during Saturday's camp.
Redman joined the effort when he offered up to help LeFors, who has a son in the same class as Redman's.
“It's been pretty successful. I think people walk away from here with a lot of knowledge that they don't get sometimes, even at other camps,” said Redman.
The two former Cardinals also recruited U of L alums Mario Urrutia and Victor Glenn, both receivers for Louisville, to help with the campers.
About thirty athletes attended this year's camp. LeFors and Redman are hoping to expand the camp and invite more athletes next year.
