LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Homicide detectives are investigating after a man's body was found in an alley in the west end early Monday morning.
LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says officers responded to a call on a report of a body found just before 7 a.m. We're told the body was found at 20th and Pirtle Street near the intersection of 20th and West Market.
Mitchell estimates the victim was in his late teens or early 20s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
Angela Kildoo tells WDRB she was walking with her youngest son when she found the body and called 911.
Here's how Kildoo says she explained the death to her son: "I just (told) him that's why I don't let him run up and down the streets and hang out with everyone."
A neighbor who did not want to be identified says he heard four gunshots early this morning.
We're told there are no suspects at this time. LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
Anyone with information is asked to call 574-LMPD (574-5673).
