LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A Louisville man was arrested over the weekend after authorities say he left three mentally disabled people alone in a hot vehicle.

Varney Corneh, 20, was arrested Saturday afternoon in the 200 block of Bermuda Lane, near Fern Valley Road.

Official records say police responded to a call and found three "mentally disabled adults" sitting in a parked vehicle with no keys. All the doors of the vehicle were open at the time, according to the arrest report.

The temperature at the time of the incident was 91 degrees, according to authorities.

Officials say Corneh returned a few minutes later and said he had gone into his apartment to get a cell phone.

Corneh was arrested and charged with three counts of wanton endangerment.
