LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police officers have arrested a man who was wanted on an assault charge for allegedly shooting a man three times.

Trey Johnson, 21, was arrested Friday evening after police say he shot a man three times. Authorities say the shooting happened on April 24 at the home shared by Johnson, his mother and the victim.

Police records say it happened after an argument between the victim and Johnson's mother.

Investigators say Johnson pulled out a gun and shot the victim in his upper leg, kneecap and shoulder.

Johnson picked up some shell casings and left the scene in a vehicle, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to U of L Hospital to be treated for his wounds. Police say the victim suffered a broken arm because of one of the shots. The victim also had to have surgery, police say.

Johnson is charged with assault and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $150,000 bond.
