Indiana football player jailed on numerous drug charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - An Indiana University football player is in police custody facing numerous drug charges.

Antonio Allen, 20, of Indianapolis, was arrested after Indiana State Police executed a search warrant on 19th Street in Bloomington, Ind.

The search led to probable cause for the following charges against Allen:

- Two counts of dealing methamphetamine

- Two counts of dealing heroin

- One count of dealing cocaine

- One county of possession of heroin over 10 grams

- One county of possession of cocaine

- One count of maintaining common nuisance

Indiana University released the following statement:

“Indiana University Athletics and the IU football program are aware of the arrest of junior defensive back Antonio Allen. Allen has been suspended from all football activities effective immediately. We will continue to gather facts, monitor the legal process, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants."

Allen is being housed in the Monroe County Jail.
