LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Officials have released the names of two people who were recently killed in separate incidents.
Coroner Jack Arnold has identified the victims as 21-year-old Kenneth Liggons, of Jeffersonville, and 51-year-old Thomas Whitaker, of Louisville.
Arnold said Liggons died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. Liggons was found Monday morning at 20th and Pirtle Streets, near the intersection of 20th and West Market.
The second victim, also identified by Arnold, was 51-year-old Thomas Whitaker of Louisville. The cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, Arnold said. He died Tuesday morning after being shot at his home in the 3800 block of Muhammad Ali Boulevard, near Amy Avenue.
LMPD is looking for a suspect in connection with Liggons' death. Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call 574-LMPD (5673).
Officials have identified the person they say shot Whitaker, but police say they do not plan to make any arrests in the case. However, it will be presented to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office for review.
