Louisville Zoo offers free admission for dads

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Zoo helped families celebrate Father's Day on Sunday.

All dads were given free admission.

We saw a few of them taking pictures with their kids and the animals and just enjoying the first official day of summer.

For some kids, the trip wasn't complete without a ride on dad's shoulders. Other children were pushed around in strollers or pulled in wagons.

Antonio McKinney says it might be Father's Day, but hanging out at the zoo is really all about his children.

"Simply because I wanted the kids to have a good time today," said McKinney. “It means a lot. I just want to see smiles on everybody's faces you know. I could be down in the dumps but as long as they're not, I don't matter."

Zoo keepers also held special talks for visitors featuring the zoo's pygmy hippo dad Maji and his son Jahari.
