LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A prayer vigil was held Sunday night in Louisville to remember the nine people killed in Charleston, South Carolina.

The group, "#Ferguson2Louisville" hosted the service at Cox Park.

People gathered in a circle to reflect on this week's church shooting and discuss other violence happening around the country.

Community members from all religious backgrounds were there.

"As far as the groups are represented, it's a community event. It's not representing one group. It's everybody here to heal. And as far as what we're here for, we're just here to show solidarity for the people in Charleston, SC." said Josh Schuschke, the prayer vigil organizer.

When the vigil was finished, the group walked down to the river and threw nine roses into the water. One for each shooting victim.
