LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD is asking for the public's help to find 48-year-old James “Mike” Kimsey, who was last seen at his home on Woodmont Park Lane almost a month ago.

The missing man's father, Larry Kimsey, says Mike lives at the Middletown home with his wife and 7-year-old son.

He says the last few weeks have been stressful.

“My wife and myself and our daughter have worked tirelessly these three and a half weeks doing everything we can think of,” said Larry Kimsey.

Kimsey's father says Mike was a respected pilot, who was included in the FAA Airmen Certification Database.

“Michael flew in the Air Force for 10 years and he's flown for UPS for about 13 years,” Larry Kimsey said.

A spokesperson for UPS says Mike Kimsey is still with the company, but we're told Kimsey had been on medical leave for a while after numerous surgeries, which require daily medication.

With little clues to go on, police are hoping the public can provide answers about his disappearance.

“We're just appealing to the public, trying to see if there's any information that they may have on the whereabouts of Mr. Kimsey. Anything that they have, any knowledge they might have of where he is, where he's been,” said Sgt. Donny Burbrink with Louisville Metro Police.

Sergeant Donny Burbrink says with so many missing persons cases a year, it's difficult to solve each and every case immediately.

“We have two detectives for 2,400 cases, so they do everything they possibly can in order to appease everyone in the city who has a missing loved one,” said Sgt. Burbrink.

That's why LMPD is hoping the public can help and that someone knows where this missing father may be.

Kimsey's dad is hoping for the best and says it's not like his son to disappear.

“Wherever you are, we're praying for you and we hope and pray that this turns out with your safe return,” said Larry Kimsey.

Police are asking you to contact them if you have any information on the disappearance of Mike Kimsey.

Call the police tipline at 574-LMPD.
