Suspect arrested after woman shot on Dixie Hwy. near Algonquin Pkwy.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after a woman was shot outside a business in south Louisville.

It happened around 5:30 Wednesday evening in the 1700 block of Dixie Hwy. near Algonquin Pkwy. According to an arrest report, that's where 54-year-old Curtis Hayden shot a woman multiple times.

The victim was taken to University Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. 

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating due to the nature of the victim's injuries.

Police say Hayden was identified as the shooter by multiple witnesses at the scene and was arrested a few minutes after the shooting. He remains jailed at Louisville Metro Correction. He's charged with assault and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Hayden is being held on a $50,000 full cash bond.
