LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that some efforts to limit air pollution are unconstitutional.

New EPA rules tried to cut back on the amount of mercury going into rivers and lakes, by putting limits on power plants -- but the justices say the limits are costing the power plants too much money, and that could put some electric utilities out of business.

The case will now go back to the lower courts, where the EPA can decide how to account for the costs.
