LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A deputy coroner has identified a woman who died in a single vehicle crash on I-64 near Simpsonville Thursday.

That woman has been identified as 33-year-old Katy East of Shelbyville, Kentucky.

All lanes of I-64 West were blocked at mile point 27.2 Thursday afternoon. Kentucky State Police and Shelby County EMS were called to the scene for a serious accident.

According to a press release, police say a car traveling westbound on I-64 veered off the roadway, down an embankment and struck a large tree around 3:15.

Four passengers were inside. According to police, East was killed, while another adult and two children were taken to the hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

It was a single car accident involving a silver Toyota that ran off the road and hit the tree. Police say it was not raining at the time of the accident.
