LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Rajon Rondo signed a one year $ 9.5 million dollar contract with the Sacramento Kings Friday.
The four-time all-star and former Kentucky point guard joins a Kings team that also has fellow Wildcats DeMarcus Cousins and Willie Cauley-Stein on its roster.
The Louisville native is fresh off a brief and forgettable season with the Dallas Mavericks. After being traded to the team in December, the 29-year-old feuded with coach Rick Carlisle before being dropped from the team’s roster in the middle of the postseason.
Rondo averaged 9.3 points and 6.5 assists this past season, both below career standards.
Rondo spent his first eight and a half years with the Boston Celtics, winning a championship in 2008.
