Trial begins for JCPS teacher accused of sexually assaulting student

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The trial has started for a Jefferson County Public Schools teacher accused of sexually assaulting a student.

Scott Quisenberry was a teacher at Kerrick Elementary School when he was arrested in 2013. JCPS reassigned him to non-instructional duties in central office. He has continued to draw his $65,000-year teaching salary, pending the outcome of the criminal charges.

Quisenberry is charged with rape and four counts of sodomy with a child under the age of 14.

His alleged victim was 12 years old when the abuse allegedly began and continued until she was 15.

The alleged abuse happened between 2008 and 2010 in Jefferson County and Nelson County.
