LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The story of Louisville's own Patrick Henry Hughes hit the silver screen Thursday night. It was the local premiere for "I Am Potential" at the Louisville Palace.

The film tells the story of how Hughes overcame incredible odds, after being born without eyes -- learning to play the piano and trumpet -- and how he was even able to play in the U of L marching band, thanks to his father pushing Patrick in his wheelchair.

"It's beyond words how exciting this is," Hughes said. "We've been waiting for this for the longest time and now that it's finally here, it doesn't seem real."

"I Am Potential" was written and directed by Louisville native Zach Meiners. However, when and where you'll be able to see it is still up in the air.

There are currently no dates set for it to appear in theaters.
