LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A crowd of 7,469 showed up to Louisville Slugger Field on Saturday to see a physical, low-scoring match.

Luckily for the home crowd, the only goal of the game came from Louisville City FC, giving the home team a 1-0 win over the Charlotte Independence.

That lone goal came in the 34th minute from midfielder Magnus Rasmussen on a penalty kick.

A handball by Charlotte's Patrick Slogic gave Rasmussen the chance, which he drove into the back of the net.

The two teams combined for 24 fouls, three more than the total accumulation of shots for the game.

The win pushes Louisville's record to 8-3-5, still good for third in the Eastern Conference. But, they're just two points behind the Charleston Battery for second place.

The team gets a full week off before traveling to Pittsburgh next Saturday to play the Riverhounds.
