LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have made an arrest in the city of Shepherdsville's second homicide this year.

Kevin Justin Ward was arrested without incident at a home in Charlestown, Indiana, and charged with murder, according to Shepherdsville Police. Police say he is responsible for a shooting at the Super 8 Hotel at 275 Keystone Crossroad Drive in Shepherdsville.

Police tell us someone called 911 from the hotel just before 4 a.m. on Friday, July 10, after hearing a gunshot.

When officers arrived at the motel, they found the victim's body in the parking lot.

Tips led to Ward's arrest, according to police, but no weapon was ever found. Authorities say they're not sure how Ward was able to flee the scene. The victim's vehicle was never found. Officers say they're continuing to investigate why the shooting took place.

Police also arrested Ward's girlfriend, Kennedy Ridenour. She is charged with hindering apprehension. Both Ward and Ridenour are expected to appear in court on Thursday.

Police will not rule out more arrests.

It's not clear why Ward was at the home in Charlestown, according to police.
