School Smarts: The best way to keep your child's teeth healthy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A trip to the dentist before the new school year begins should become routine.

In this School Smarts report, Keith Kaiser stopped by the U of L School of Dentistry for a check up.
Dr. Hector Martinez, UofL Pediatric Dentist, discussed the habits of keeping your child's teeth healthy.

Proper brushing and flossing techniques promotes great oral hygiene.

He covered the importance of sealants for kids.
Dental visits are definitely recommended and Kentucky state law requires students going into kindergarten to have a dental exam.
