Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana holds carnival for unmatched children

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Hundreds of children are waiting to be matched with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana.

A Wait List Carnival was held Sunday for all the unmatched children to show them that they are important and not forgotten.

The kids played mini-golf, balloon darts and even launched rockets into the air before taking home a free backpack filled with school supplies.

About 400 children are waiting to be matched with a big brother or big sister.

The organization is looking for more volunteers.

"Somebody that can help spend some time with them and help them with their school work," said Big Sister Nicole Walton. "Just do fun activities, be a mentor and help them through different stages."

Walton says being a big sister is such a rewarding experience.
