Louisville suspects accused of robbing man of cell phone, car keys
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested two men they say committed an armed robbery Saturday night.
It happened at the corner of 30th Street and Bank Street after 11:30 p.m., according to an arrest report.
Police say the victim told them two men -- one of whom was holding a handgun -- approached him and demanded everything out of his pockets, taking his car keys and cell phone.
The victim was able to give police a description of the men who robbed him, as well as the vehicle they were in, according to the arrest report. Police say they found 28-year-old William L. Hall, II and 25-year-old John Philpott -- who matched the descriptions of the suspects -- near the corner of N. 29th Street and St. Xavier Street, along with a vehicle which also matched the description provided by the victim.
Police say they also found property matching the description of property that had been taken during the robbery. When the officer called the victim's phone number, the phone inside the vehicle rang, according to the arrest report.
Both Hall and Philpott were arrested and charged with first degree robbery.
