Man arrested after allegedly trying to bring handgun, knife into Hall of Justice
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested Friday morning after the sheriff's office says he tried to walk into the Hall of Justice with a handgun.
According to an arrest citation, it happened just before 9 a.m. at the Hall of Justice on the corner of 6th Street and W. Jefferson Street.
Authorities say 58-year-old Eugene Douglas Wood placed a bag containing a .38 special handgun loaded with five rounds -- along with a pocket knife -- into the metal detector.
Both weapons are not allowed in the courthouse, but Wood still placed the bag on the metal detector, ignoring signage posted on all of the entrances of the building, according to the arrest report.
Jefferson County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Wood and charged him with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
