LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An injury accident involving three vehicles has shut down all southbound lanes of I-65 near Elizabethtown. Kentucky State Police trooper Jeff Gregory said one person died as result of the crash.

Update 12:15 a.m.: The scene has been cleared and traffic is moving through the area, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

Original Story:

Kentucky State Police says the crash near mile marker 90 involved two semis.

Trooper Gregory said one person has died, but he also said he didn't believe there were other serious injuries.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says traffic is backed up to mile marker 97.

For those already in the area, KYTC officials suggest a detour off of Exit 91 to the Natcher Parkway, before rejoining I-65 S in Bowling Green.

The closure is expected to last until about midnight Monday.
