LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- America Place, a Metro Louisville real estate developer, is wrapping up construction of its second, industrial building at River Ridge Commerce Center -- and it's buying up more land for another.

According to a news release, America Place has closed on the acquisition of 52.5 acres of land to allow for the construction of a third building in the industrial park. With the new land, the developer owns nearly 150 acres on the River Ridge campus.

The company has also secured an option to purchase an additional 10.5 acres in the future.

"We love this location and are continuing to invest in the future," said Debbie Smith, managing director of America Place, according to the release. "The East End Bridge -- just about two miles from our campus -- will create a new corridor for commerce and logistics between Indiana and Kentucky when it opens next year. As the bridge takes shape, numerous businesses are telling us they want to be near this new corridor because it will improve access to the entire region."

The nearly 253,000-square-foot building that was just completed joins a 150,000-square-foot building America Place built last year. The first building has been leased to Tenneco, Ind., a Fortune 500 automotive supplier adding more than 250 manufacturing jobs to the site.

America Place is in negotiations with potential tenants for the other completed building, and the soon-to-be-built building, but no leases have been signed yet, according to the news release.
