LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police officer was involved in a car crash Wednesday.

According to LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell, it happened about 7:30 a.m. at the corner of Old Shepherdsville Road and Poplar Level Road. Mitchell tells WDRB the sixth division officer was leaving the parking lot of a Valvoline Instant Oil Change when the light turned red and drivers were allowing him to enter traffic.

Mitchell says a red Ford F-150 did not stop and hit the police cruiser on the driver's side. The officer was taken to Baptist Hospital East with a minor head injury.

No one else was injured.
