Fourth person pleads guilty to taking part in Ky. bourbon theft ring
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A fourth defendant is facing up to a year in jail in connection with a Kentucky bourbon theft ring that investigators say sold thousands of dollars of stolen bourbon.
Dustin Adkins, 42, pleaded guilty Thursday in Franklin Circuit Court to criminal conspiracy.
Adkins says he acted as a middleman for Gilbert "Toby" Curtsinger of Frankfort in the sale of stolen bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Distillery.
Eight other people were indicted in April on theft charges from two bourbon distilleries.
Adkins says he will cooperate in the investigation and will testify in the trial of his co-defendants if needed.
