LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police have released the funeral arrangements and visitation information for Sgt. David Gibbs, who was killed in car wreck Aug. 7.

Police say the accident took place just before 6:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, on KY Hwy. 210 (also known as Campbellsville Road), near the Buffalo area, just before the Green County line.

According to a news release, Gibbs was driving a Kentucky State Police 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Cruiser westbound on KY Hwy. 210 when he lost control of his vehicle in a sharp, rain-soaked curve. The vehicle traveled into the oncoming lane, where it was hit by a 2015 white Jeep driven by a 63-year-old man from Louisville.

Gibbs was pronounced dead at the scene by the LaRue County Coroner's Office.
