LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say they were able to recover a coin collection valued at $15,000 that was stolen from a vehicle after the victim helped investigators set up a sting operation.

According to the arrest report, the coins were stolen from a vehicle on Saratoga Drive near Trevilian Way on Aug. 5. Police say the victim agreed to work with police to identify the suspects, who agreed to meet with the victim so he could buy back the coins.

On Aug. 7, LMPD detectives set up surveillance at the meeting spot -- Heine Bros. in the 2200 block of Bardstown Road. After the victim identified the property, police arrested Jeffrey Hash and Morrissa Edmonson.

Police say both Hash and Edmonson were arrested, and both admitted they planned to "receive money for the coins" from the victim.

Both Hash and Edmonson are charged with receiving stolen property. Edmonson also faces one charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
