Indiana mayor charged with patronizing a prostitute
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A southern Indiana mayor and an alleged prostitute from Indianapolis were arrested Tuesday, according to Indiana State police.
The 60-year-old mayor of Batesville, Ind., has been charged with patronizing a prostitute.
Police say Mayor Richard Fledderman, of Batesville, paid Randy Wigle-Stevens, 42, for sex acts. Both men face prostitution charges, and Wigle-Stevens is also charged with failure to disclose dangerous communicable disease status after police say he failed to disclose his HIV status to Fledderman in advance.
Wigle-Stevens' second charge is a Level 6 Felony.
The ISP investigation revealed that Wigle-Stevens threatened to go public with the encounter unless Fledderman paid him additional money.
