Pedestrian killed in the Highlands may have deliberately walked into traffic
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Metro Police say a fatal accident in the Highlands may have been caused by a man deliberately walking in front of a truck.
It happened just before 4 a.m. on Bardstown Road near Grinstead Drive. A postal worker headed to his job tells WDRB's Kara Kirtley that the man "dove in front of his vehicle."
LMPD spokeswoman Alicia Smiley says surveillance video from nearby businesses shows the man who was hit deliberately walked in front of the USPS postal truck. No charges are expected.
The driver of the USPS truck was upset and crying. He says he was on his way to work on Baxter Avenue, when the accident happened.
Bardstown Road reopened at Grinstead Drive just before 7 a.m.
The victim's name was not immediately released.
