LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Captain Matt Fondy notched his second hat trick on the season Wednesday night, putting in four goals en route to Louisville City’s 5-1 victory over Harrisburg.

In a dominant offensive performance, Louisville looked comfortable pushing the ball up field and routinely slotting dangerous crosses into the box.

Fondy’s four goals put him tied for third all-time in USL goals with 32, he’s also the first USL players this season to net four goals in a game and to notch two hat tricks.

Despite an early second half goal by Harrisburg and a number of chances getting in behind Louisville’s back line, the outcome was never really in doubt for Louisville.

But In a dominant 5-1 victory, one of the biggest stories of the game might have been Guy Abend’s return to the pitch after an injury against Richmond back in April. Abend has been back at training over the past few weeks but the Israeli midfielder subbed onto the pitch in the second half for the first time since April 2.

As the rain started to come down in the 86th minute, fans headed for the exit in droves and Harrisburg went into damage control mode.

Louisville City remains second in the Eastern Conference with 41 points, just three points behind first place Rochester.

The team now heads to Tulsa to take on the Roughnecks Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
