Police arrest Louisville man days after he allegedly stabbed victim in chest with folding knife

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man was arrested at Mall St. Matthews Wednesday afternoon, days after police say he stabbed a man in the chest with a folding knife.

According to an arrest report, the crime happened in the early morning hours of Friday, July 31, at a home on Lipps Lane, near Preston Highway. Police say 31-year-old Jeremy Brummett got into an argument with a man who lived at the home and stabbed him in the chest with a folding knife.

The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment. His condition is not known.

According to the arrest report, Brummett was arrested just after 12:00 p.m. at Mall St. Matthews Wednesday and charged with first degree assault. He is currently being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.
