LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- City officials are looking for a creative, new look that will encourage people to head into West Louisville. So far, that includes a plan to revitalize part of West Main Street near Ninth Street.

The city says more people are starting to walk under the I-64 exit ramp to go to nearby businesses and the plan is to make that space more inviting.

“How do we improve the lighting? Maybe do some artwork. And how do we really make that inviting so people go beyond the Frazier History Center there and go into the Shipping port and Russell neighborhoods,” said Chris Poynter, the Mayor’s Spokesman.

The project is part of Louisville's bigger plan to revitalize West Louisville.

The city is accepting proposals from firms and businesses that are interested in bidding for the $150,000 improvement project.
