Rise in Louisville shootings prompts local activist to begin conversation tour on gun violence

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Community activist Christopher 2X says he's starting a conversation tour about the impact of gun violence on Louisville.

He says in the first seven months this year, 205 people in the Metro Area have been wounded by gunfire.

That includes victims who are ages 9, 14, 15 and 17.

Those four will now speak around Kentuckiana - talking about how *their lives were affected by gun violence.

"At the end of the day, when all is said and done and the aftermath of this stuff, we have each other," 2X said. "It's gonna take us to work this out internally to solve this problem ... to minimize where it's not gonna be as extreme as it is right now."

2X says it's a way to work together on advocacy efforts.

Their first public discussion will be at Indiana University Southeast sometime in September.
