LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer hosted a U.S. Conference of Mayors Play Ball Initiative on Sunday.

The Cincinnati Reds Rookie Success League and RBI Baseball programs worked with players ages 12 and under at Louisville Slugger Field.

They provided baseball instruction while also focusing on character building and life skills.

The young players participated in a skills competition before playing a game on the Bats' field.

The major league event focused on the fun you can have while playing baseball and encourages similar activities to be played during the month of August.
