LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - A replica of a classic car belonging to John Schnatter, owner of Papa John's, was found in a Detroit neighborhood.

A spokesperson for the Detroit Police Department confirmed the vehicle was located Monday morning. Detroit Police found the car in the 14400 block of Pierson in Detroit.

Officials say there was slight damage to the vehicle's driver side fender.

Thieves stole the car and it was caught on camera.

Fox 2 in Detroit reports that surveillance video showed the criminals removing a trailer from a white truck and then attaching it to their own vehicle and driving away.

Inside the trailer was a 1972 gold Chevy Camaro Z28 belonging to Schnatter.

In all, his car and a few other classic cars were stolen during the Woodward Dream Cruise near Detroit.

Police also recovered the trailer.

This was a replica of the car Schnatter sold to start his pizza chain and then paid $250,000 to buy back years later.

Authorities say the investigation into the theft is open and active. Police have not made any arrests in the case.
