Freshmen students move into residence halls at U of L's campus

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Cardinal students are leaving the nest and moving into U of L residence halls.

Cars were lined up Wednesday and boxes were unloaded outside campus residence halls.

It's the first day students can start moving in.

It's a big change for many freshmen and their parents.

"At times I think I was crying harder than the rain was coming down. I'm sure the trip home isn't going to be easy. We will take our turns crying," said Paula Payne, mother of a freshman student.

This year's flock of incoming U of L students are record breakers.

Seventy-five percent of them will be living in residence halls, which is the highest in the school's history.

The freshmen class' ACT scores are also the highest in university history.
