LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The Louisville Zoo is now home to a six-year-old Amur tiger named Vikentii.

The 369 pound male tiger came to Louisville from the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, according to a Zoo news release.

The new tiger is acclimatizing to his new habitat and is getting to know the keepers who will be working with him.

Zoo officials say Vikentii was a crowd favorite at the Hogle Zoo, where he was born. They say he’s naturally curious, likes to explore and likes to roar.

Amur Tigers can be found in the river region of eastern Russia, northeastern China and into the Korean peninsula.
