IU Southeast students move into residence halls

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Students at IU Southeast got quite a welcome on campus, including help moving into their new homes.

Student volunteers wearing yellow t-shirts are helping with the heavy lifting. More than 400 students are moving into the residence halls today. Parents are helping too, unpacking clothes, and moving dishes into the kitchens to get settled in.

The only problem could be what students are trying to stuff into their new homes.

"I can't live without a lot of things, so I brought...I packed my whole room," said Danielle Bunch, an IU Southeast sophomore. "We took two cars."

"These are lovely rooms, but with the amount of materials these people are bringing, they'll get small soon," said Dr. Ray Wallace, chancellor of the university. "I think they'll send some stuff home."

An induction ceremony tomorrow will formally welcome all the new students.
